Copley Symphony Hall: San Diego,
CA - November 29, 2001
I got off work early in order to make
sure I got at the venue at a decent time. At around 12ish Trace emails me and tells me to get a hold of her ASAP. I get a
hold of her and apparently she won a meet and greet thing in which a certain number of winners and a guest get to go in and
listen to sound check, meet her afterwards and take a group picture. I immediately got excited, being that Natalie (who is
tied with U2) is my favorite! So I got in my car met Trace and we headed down to the venue. We got there and saw many of our
favorite Cal-Nammers (a group of us that met in 1999 from a Natalie email list that we are on). We waited around for a little
while and then they let us into sound check. It was pretty cool, although Natalie didnt realize we were there right away.
She cracked jokes and warmed up her voice. After that we thought we were going to have a group picture but it was rumored
that Natalie, supposedly, was supposed to have her chiropractor do something to her back. Oh well. She did come and shake
our hands though, so I got to see her up close once again. We had to leave the venue and wait for the concert to begin. It
was time for the show to begin and Natalie Started off with San Andreas Fault, which is one of my favorite songs. The
show proceeded with the following set list: 1. San Andreas Fault 2. River 3.
Put The Law On You 4. I'm Not Gonna Beg 5. The Living 6. Unknown a cappella 7.
Golden Boy 8. Hey Jack Kerouac 9. Build A Levee / Wade In The Water (Nick Cave) 10. Soldier, Soldier 11.
Comments about the Tonight Show 12. Natalie taking pictures with a disposable camera 13. Cowboy Romance 14. Life Is Sweet
15. Sarah (an 8 year old girl from the audience) joins Natalie on stage 16. Break Your Heart 17. Sarah gets ready to
sing 18. Thinking Of You (Sarah Hogan) 19. Sarah & Natalie get ready to sing
20. Kind and Generous 21. Sarah opts to stay on stage 22.
Wonder 23. Just Can't Last 24. Sarah leaves stage 25. Carnival 26. This House Is On Fire 27. Saint Judas 28. Motherland 29.
The Lowlands of Holland 30. Gold Rush Brides
Overall this was a great show. We (Cal*Nam group) decided to stay after but she didnt come
out after about an hour so we decided to go home because we had a long drive the next day.
The Joint (Hard Rock Hotel): Las
Vegas, NV - November 30, 2001
The drive was long but it was nice to
have some good music to listen to. We checked into our hotel did some gambling and then it eventually was time to go to the
show. Natalie opened up with I need you by George Harrison because George had passed away the day previous and Natalie had
a great respect for him. The rest of the set list is as follows: 2. Something (Harrison) 3. While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Harrison)
4. San Andreas Fault 5. Cowboy Romance 6. Build A Levee 7. Break Your Heart 8.
Wonder 9. Hey Jack Kerouac 10. Carnival 11. Golden Boy 12. Put The Law On You

My Sweet Lord (Harrison) 20. These Are Days 21. Kind and Generous 22. I'm Not Gonna Beg 23. Thick As Thieves 24. Seven Years
Overall this was a great show although
it was a bit rowdy. There were many drunk people in the audience, not that I have a problem with drunk people, but I do when
they are rude and there were many rude people near me. I did make the most of it though.
So afterwards we went to downtown Las
Vegas and did some gambling and such. We got back to the hotel around 1am or so. I went into my room, which I was sharing
with Angela. We were laying in our beds just chatting about the show and about 20 minutes into that the phone rings. Angela
answers it and it is Dave telling me that they are leaving for Phoenix. Apparently the hotel promised them that the couch
would pull out into a bed and it wasnt working properly so they asked for a new room and they gave them a new room but was
going to charge them for it. It was a crazy mess. So needless to say we drove to Phoenix, Arizona with no sleep in over 24
hours.
The Web Theatre: Phoenix, AZ - December
1, 2001
That was quite a task! Dave drove and
I was the designated person too keep the driver awake along with keeping myself awake. I felt myself nod off a few times,
but we got there safely. We checked into our hotel in Arizona and learned that there was going to be a parade on the street
that our hotel was on. So we had to park across the street so that we could drive to the venue where Natalie was playing.
One of the employees at the front desk told us how to get to the venue and then we went up to our hotel and went to sleep
for a few hours. We got up and got ready to see Natalie. We had a few challenges on the way. The first challenge was that
many streets were blocked off because of the parade. Needless to say it took us about an hour to get to the venue that would
normally only take probably 15-20 minutes. We walked in got some food and drinks and I walked into the area where the seating
was and it did not look like a Natalie concert. It looked like a Gallagher venue (there were people wearing rain coats and
it wasnt raining). So we went up to the people that took our tickets and sure enough we were at the wrong venue. That was
the second challenge. So we worried that we wouldnt be able to get into the Natalie concert because our tickets were torn
in half. They assured us that everything would be ok. So we were off to the correct venue We finally arrived. We told the
ticket takers what happened and they sort of looked at us weird and we told them we were from out of town they did let us
go through. We finally made it! We showed up literally 3 minutes before Natalie came on stage singing Something by
George Harrison. Wow what an amazing voice she has. The set list ended up being: 1. Something 2. San Andreas Fault 3. River
(Joni Mitchell) 4. Cowboy Romance 5. What Phoenix Is Famous For talking) 6. Gold Rush Brides 7. The Fake Set lists (talking)
8. Build A Levee 9. Break Your Heart 10. Wonder 11.
Hey Jack Kerouac 12. Carnival 13. Butcher's Boy 14. Golden Boy 15. Relatively Happy (talking) 16. King of May 17. Don't Talk
18. Mama, He Treats Your Daughter Mean 19. Put The Law On You 20. Saint
Judas 21. This House Is On Fire 22. Encore introduction 23. These Are Days 24.
Requests/Computers 25. Band Interviews 26. In The Ghetto 27. While My Guitar Gently Weeps 28. Second encore introduction 29.
Motherland 30. Seven Deadly Sins 31. I'm Not Gonna Beg 32. Just Can't Last 33. Closing
We drove home the next day, with no challenges
other than the fact that we were exhausted. Overall, the shows were wonderful but the challenges we faced were horrendous.
What we will do to see Natalie.
